Huntington Library Adventures!

So spring break is this week and what better way to spend it than at an art museum/library!

Haha, most of you are probably thinking what a dumbass loser we got over here right now but seriously guys, this place is awesome.

It's just a beautiful way to spend the afternoon with your friend or bæ. I've been coming to this place since I was little with my family so I decided to drag my boyfriend along and share with him the magical-ness of the grounds.

The admission fees for one timers are pretty pricey but if you get a membership you can come jogging every afternoon in the beautiful place. We bought two student tickets for $19 each. Kids four and under are free and regular admission is $23. The prices and hours can be found here. Prices and Hours
The hours are a bit wack but trust me four and a half hours is plenty enough time to walk the grounds and explore everything. There's so much space to just relax and be alone; it's a great place to sit and contemplate life.

The best thing I found about Huntington Library is that it hasn't been infected by the Hipster Virus yet. The virus that swarms around Starbucks and Urban Outfitters. No this place is like a safehouse haven for the older generation and geeky art lovers like me.

They had a US constitution and Shakespeare exhibit when I went and I was fangirling all over the place. It was quite embarrassing. My boyfriend was acting like he didn't know me. *evil laughter*

The library is not open to the public so you're mainly going for the various gardens and the art museums. There's a rose garden filled with hundreds of varieties of roses and a tea room overlooking the garden (reservations are needed and it ain't cheap). There's an Australian garden, herb garden, Chinese garden (that's my favorite!), Japanese garden, botanical greenhouse, European art museum, American art museum, etc etc.

They say no outside food or drinks but honestly they don't check and the food there is expensive and not really great so just put a Trader Joe's salad in that purse and eat somewhere they won't see you...which is everywhere because the place is so big and private. And since the Huntington Library's near Pasadena, why not try the Pasadena Salad from Joe's. It serves two (I hog all of it to myself), it's sooooo good, and it's $3.99.

Here are some photos from my trip.
If you're going to steal them please at least give me credit for them or don't use them for bad purposes. Thanks guys
